Areas of Interest

Dr. Coe is a cum laude graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After receiving her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, she completed her internship, residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.

While at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Coe received an Internal Medicine Resident Research Award and two consecutive Quality Fellow honors. She also received the Olympus Colorectal Cancer Prevention Award by the American College of Gastroenterology for her research on methods for improving precancerous colon polyp detection, and first place in the Florida Gastroenterology Society Fellow’s research competition.

Dr. Coe has been a presenter at both national and international conferences and has been widely published in journals such as Current Opinion in Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Journal of Gastroenterology. In 2010 and 2012, she served as a scientific reviewer for the American College of Physicians’ Digestive and Liver Disease journal and her study on “Gender Trends in Adenoma Detection: Should the Guidelines for ADR Change?” was selected the 2012 Digestive Disease Week press program, which highlights important and newsworthy GI research.

Dr. Coe is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Coe has a special interest in women’s health and quality measures in colonoscopy. She joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2012.
