In middle and high school, I struggled with 5 years’ worth of stomach pain, anorexia, and weight loss and visited countless doctors before my peds GI knew I had an ulcer within a few minutes of meeting me. He got me pain free and back on track and was one of those once in a lifetime kind of doctors who makes you feel like you’re his only patient of the day. I’ve had an interest in GI since then which grew during PA school.
