A native of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Camilo received his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo. He was the first student to graduate with Summa Cum Laude honors in the history of his medical school. As a young physician in the Dominican Republic, he volunteered with several non-profit organizations which aid underprivileged communities.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Camilo completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida. As a medical resident, he also served as a volunteer for community programs supporting stroke and colon cancer prevention. After completing a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri in Kansas City (UMKC), Dr. Camilo then moved on to the University of Colorado, where he completed an additional fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the university’s renowned Anschutz Medical Campus.
