Melissa holds an associate degree in science from Gainesville State College and received her baccalaureate degree in nursing from Georgia Health Sciences University, graduating magna cum laude from both institutions. While studying for her nursing degree, she also served as student government president. Melissa received her master’s degree in nursing from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University and graduated magna cum laude.

Prior to joining Gastroenterology Associates of Athens as an advanced practice registered nurse in 2012, Melissa began her medical career at Athens Regional Medical Center and The Mayo Clinic. She is board certified through the American Nursing Credentialing Center as an adult nurse practitioner and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society.

In 2015, the physicians and staff of Gastroenterology Associates of Athens became affiliated with Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates.
