A native of Connecticut, Dr. Mullady is an honors graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he also completed a fellowship in anatomic pathology. Following his residency in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then completed advanced endoscopy fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Following completion of training in 2008, Dr. Mullady joined the Division of Gastroenterology at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) in St. Louis, Missouri. During his time at WUSM, he was promoted to Professor of Medicine and served as the Director of Interventional Endoscopy at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. There, he trained several of his future WUSM colleagues along with multiple other gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy trainees, and he also participated in clinical and endoscopic outcomes research.

Dr. Mullady has lectured at regional and national courses throughout his career, has presented numerous abstracts at national scientific meetings, and is widely published in peer-reviewed journals, including The American Journal of Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Pancreas, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Gastroenterology. In addition, he was editor of the clinical casebook, Dilemmas in ERCP, and has contributed chapters to several other gastroenterology textbooks. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He has served on national committees for ACG and ASGE, and has been recognized for his contributions to gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy by advancement to Fellow with ACG and ASGE.

Dr. Mullady’s clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic and biliary disorders, pre-/early malignant lesions of the gastrointestinal tract including large colon polyps and Barrett’s esophagus, and pancreatitis. In addition to colonoscopy and upper endoscopy (EGD), he performs endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), enteral stenting, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).

Dr. Mullady joined The Center for Liver and Digestive Health in 2022.
