Carly completed her associate degree in nursing at Athens Technical College. She graduated with honors from Brenau University in Gainesville where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She also completed her master’s degree in nursing at Brenau University, receiving the designation family nurse practitioner. In 2015, Carly was named in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, recognizing her academic achievements, leadership, and community involvement.

Carly began her nursing career at Athens Regional Medical Center as a surgical nurse. Prior to joining Gastroenterology Associates of Athens in 2014, she served as a surgical nurse and team leader at St. Mary’s outpatient surgery department. While there, Carly received St. Mary’s Clinical Nursing Excellence Award. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner.

In 2015, the physicians and staff of Gastroenterology Associates of Athens became affiliated with Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates.
